The official Scream And Run objective is direct: you are trapped in a school after dark, the Cat in the Hat is hunting, and you must search abandoned classrooms and backpacks for hidden keys that unlock the exit. The challenge is keeping a usable route while the search pulls you into side rooms. This hub separates the normal escape flow, the currently documented key and backpack search, and the No Power challenge.

Start with the guide you need

If this is your first round, read How to Escape first. Use the locations page when you understand the main loop but keep missing rooms or duplicating backpack checks. Attempt No Power after you can reverse a normal route without depending on bright room details.

Know what is official and what is still changing

The developer’s Roblox description confirms the school, classrooms, backpacks, hidden keys, locked exit, Cat pursuit, and PC bindings. Roblox badge data confirms two enabled achievements named “Escape The Cat In The Hat” and “Escape The Cat In The Hat With No Power On.” Those facts are strong enough to define the goals.

The first-party text does not publish a fixed key total, backpack coordinates, randomization rule, team sharing, lives, defeat behavior, Cat sensing, safe hiding places, or the exact no-power trigger. Current walkthroughs show practical searches and a recent video demonstrates a 5/5 completion, but those observations should be treated as current community evidence rather than permanent design promises.

Build a route that survives pressure

Choose a recognizable start anchor, then identify a second anchor at the first major junction. Search one nearby room at a time and return to the junction before adding another branch. Turn around at every doorway so the return view becomes familiar. A route you can reverse is more valuable than a fast sprint through rooms you cannot name.

Locate the exit when practical and remember two features near it. If you cannot find it early, continue a compact sweep instead of crossing the entire school at random. When the exit appears, do not wait there without progress; use it as a destination for the return phase.

Current independent guidance recommends checking each backpack you find. Use a live progress counter if one appears. If the game provides no shared display, teammates should call each collected key and the room they are leaving. The official listing does not confirm whether progress belongs to one player or the team.

Search without claiming a fixed map

The best current location answer is a search category, not a coordinate list: classrooms and backpacks are official, while current guides also show bags through the school’s rooms and halls. Clear visible bags in one zone, mark the zone complete for that round, and move to the next anchor. If you discover a key, note the backpack and nearby landmarks, not just the room color from one camera angle.

Compare at least two rounds before calling a placement fixed. A recent 5/5 video is useful because it visually demonstrates a complete search, but one successful layout cannot prove all future rounds. The locations guide gives a card index for recording evidence without forcing unknown fields.

If an update moves a backpack, use the route system rather than an old screenshot. Return to the last confirmed junction and clear the remaining rooms. Avoid pages that promise exact spawn rates or a shortest route without a current multi-round basis.

Manage the Cat without fictional numbers

Keep a known doorway behind you while searching. When the Cat appears, leave toward a route you have already seen. Run with Shift when distance matters, use C only after learning how crouch and crawl differ in the current build, and use Shift + C for the published slide input. No official source states exact stamina, noise, speed, detection radius, or invulnerability.

Current community coverage suggests movement speed affects danger. Inspect any live HUD meter and make decisions from what it shows, but do not turn one visual indicator into a guaranteed stealth threshold. If a location fails as cover, update your route rather than declaring the Cat unfair from one encounter.

If caught, read the current life and progress behavior. The Infinite Lives pass description confirms lives in Escape and No Power, but it does not state the free count, checkpoint, or whether collected keys survive.

Return and confirm the escape

When the live progress display says the requirement is complete, stop searching and return to the exit by the shortest route you can describe. Keep the door and prompt visible. Let the player carrying or controlling progress attempt the interaction first if team behavior is unclear.

Read the end message. A badge notification for “Escape The Cat In The Hat” is strong confirmation that Roblox recorded a normal escape. If the door opens but no result appears, wait for the current round transition before leaving. Badge statistics are snapshots and do not define the interaction steps.

For No Power, confirm the power state remains off through the relevant finish and watch for the separate badge name. Do not assume a momentary outage counts the same as a full no-power round.

Escape FAQ

Where are the keys?

The official listing says hidden keys are found by searching abandoned classrooms and backpacks. Current guides show room-by-room bag checks, but fixed coordinates and spawn rules remain unconfirmed.

Is the requirement always five keys?

A current video demonstrates 5/5, but the developer does not publish a permanent total. Follow the live counter for your round.

Where is the exit?

No official complete map or fixed exit coordinate was available. Locate it through a systematic landmark sweep and record the route back.

What confirms a successful escape?

Use the round result and, when awarded, the official “Escape The Cat In The Hat” badge. The badge is enabled for this universe.
